A great day in jinja

Today was a relaxing day, spent in Jinja, a small town on the Nile. We are at a decent campground, and for about $2.50 we can use the facilities at the resort next door, so a few of us spent the day lounging by the pool, enjoying the sunshine. There dont seem to be any actual guests staying there, so it was just a few from our group.

It rained a bit this afternoon, so a few of us got massages. $9 for a massage. Good deal. Now I am just enjoying a drink at the bar overlooking the Nile.

Tomorrow will be an early morning, probably have to leave around 6. We have a long drive and a border crossing into Kenya.

I hope you are all keeping warm these days, sending you some African warmth!

I've included a few other pictures from my adventure so far. Not sure where the next Internet spot will be, but I will touch base as soon as I can!

    Thanks for sharing all the photos. It's great to see! The power just went out here, so my UPS is beeping. I'm going to shut my computer down to stop the noise from the UPS and will post later. Hope it doesn't stay out long or it will be cold!

    Hi again - the previous post about power outage was from me. I started sending it during lunch and then the power went out. It was out downtown for about 2 hours - getting pretty cold by the time it came back on. BRRR.
    Love your photos, the warthogs are cute - in a warthog kinda way! Is the elephant behind the tree branch the Jungle elephant that was on your trail on the way back from the gorilla trek? Have you seen any rhinos?
    We saw Cody at Walmart last night and dad showed him the picture of you with the gorilla as well as the one of the mom and baby elephant.

    Hi B-Berry, thanks for all the e-mails and pics! The one of you with many small african children sparked much conversation, Violeta figures your motherly instinct is awakening :p I've been sharing all your posts with her, but she has to read it off my iphone which is a bit of a challenge. Getting ready for 4 10-hour days in a row, tucked into bed early with evil cat cat bouncing on my feet. Hopefully you dont have the same problem there, those cat cats would be much bigger :p (and probably not declawed)
    Glad to hear you're splurging on spa days, mom tried to give me your mid-month advance, she even went as far as to put it in my bank account, but I insisted it be returned :p
    Come home soon so I can book a holiday!
    Miss you lots, I keep getting to work too early since I don't have to drop you off! Let me know if there is any food I should make sure I have around for your return :p
